Dispatch/Communications

The Union County 9-1-1 dispatch center provides police, fire, and EMS dispatch and communications services for 22 agencies in Union County. If you call 9-1-1 in Union County, you will get one of our dispatchers at the La Grande Police Department office. "Union County Dispatch" is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends. Typically, dispatch is staffed by 10 full time dispatchers (including three supervisors).

In 2017, Union County Dispatch logged and dispatched 32,480 calls for service for all agencies in Union County. Of those calls, 5,385 were "imminent threat to life or property" or "needs immediate response" incidents. A total of 11,168 routine (e.g.: theft, burglary, suspicious persons, etc.) calls for service were received and logged. Animal-related calls totaled 1,209 for the year ending 2017.

Under Communications, the reception/records and evidence sections support various functions in the department. Reception/Records handles all requests to release CAD reports, police reports, and other documents. The Evidence Section is responsible for processing, handling, and maintaining LGPD's evidence gathered from various crimes and calls for service.
